premier-about-us

Foam Tech as a business is an acumination of many different industries merging talents into one format.

Monte Hilding originally began his career as a framing contractor in the early 90’s, developing his skill and knowledge base to grow his business into general contracting, then a large loss restoration company. As a restoration contractor, Monte and his crew were called upon to diagnose and fix the complicated, odd, and dysfunctional issues associated with poor original construction, soil deterioration, ground water migration, mold infestation, and the like. Fixing the issues most new construction and remodeling contractors couldn’t became our business and one of Monte’s passions.

At Foam Tech, and our parent company, Premier basement Systems, finding innovative and permanent solutions for repair is our focus. We thoroughly enjoy educating ourselves in new and current technology that produces products which allow us to help our customers with environmentally sound and cost effective solutions.

About the Owner

Owner of Premier Basement SystemsMonte Hilding

Monte is a long time Coeur d’Alene Idaho resident who began his career in construction at the age of 17 framing houses in Kootenai and Spokane Counties. He learned building techniques from an old Spokane master framer who believed in the importance of constructing everything by hand. This later became a true source of knowledge for Monte because if one understands how something intimately goes together, diagnosing the “why’s”, becomes much easier.

Monte took this education and eventually began a framing company in Coeur d’Alene, and then a general contracting company, serving all of the Northwest, that specialized in Damage Restoration. Having a solid understanding of the science of how a house is constructed, Monte loved taking on projects that other’s shied away from. He sought his certifications in Fire and Water Restoration, Mold Abatement, Radon Mitigation, Basement Waterproofing Science, Crawl Space Encapsulation Science, and Foam Lifting.

It’s not uncommon for Monte to share pictures of weird insects, stachybotrys chartarum, or disturbingly sunken slabs and excitedly exclaim, “how cool is it that we get to work with this!” He even has a collection of donated objects found in crawl space and basement excavations and repairs. Naturally curious, Monte genuinely enjoys keeping up to date on the most current information, tools, & products available for his chosen fields, and loves sharing what he’s learned with homeowners so they can make the best educated decisions regarding the repair of their home.
